Commission discusses events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

The fourth sitting of the state commission coordinating the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide kicked off at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Complex in Yerevan. The meeting chaired by President Serzh Sargsyan brought together representatives of different community commissions set up to coordinate the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, as well as experts, representatives of the diplomatic corps, leaders of the Dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
President Sargsyan noted in his opening remarks that a huge preparatory work has been done both in Armenia and Diaspora ever since the first meeting of the commission three years ago. He said the Komitas Museum will open its doors this year. The reconstration works will be completed at Tsitsernakaberd Memorial next year. This is only part of the series of events scheduled ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The “forget-me-not” flower has been chosen as the symbol of the events. It has been developed by the “Sharm” Company. The flower has nearly the same meaning in all languages and symbolizes that nothing will be forgotten.
