Armenia: Yerevan - Genocide marchers burn Turkish flag
A Turkish flag was set alight in Yerevan's Freedom Square on Wednesday ahead of a rally and torchlit march to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the killing and deportation of ethnic Armenians by the Ottoman Empire.
The event was organised by Armenian Revolutionary Federation left-wing nationalist party, also known as Dashnaktsutyun. They marched from the Freedom Square to the Armenian Genocide memorial complex Tsitsernakaberd in the Armenian capital.
Participants of the rally carried a large banner reading "Compensation, Condemnation, Recognition", and a large wooden cross. People were chanting "Armenia!" "Compensation!" and "We demand!". The march took place the day before a ceremony to victims of the mass killing, falling on April 24th.
